This drug is metabolized into diphenoxylic acid (a product of the ester group hydrolysis of diphenoxylate). The metabolite is 5 times as active as the parent drug, and the metabolite's normal plasma concentration is 0.04-0.08 ?g/mL and half-life is 4.4 hours. |
