Aldicarb is a pesticide, cholinesterase inhibitor causing increased mucous secretions in lungs. May be fatal if inhaled/swallowed/absorbed through skin. The acute oral LD50 (the dose required to kill half a population of laboratory test animals) for aldicarb is 0.93 mg/kg(10). In humans, signs of aldicarb poisoning include dizziness, salivation, excessive sweating, nausea, abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea, blurred vision, pin-point pupils, difficulty breathing and muscle twitching. |
